Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta feels that critics of the Nerazzurri are “jealous” of the club’s success, and that the club is in good shape.

Speaking at the Inter Club party, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri executive was also confident about the contract extension of captain Lautaro Martinez despite the recent words from the Argentine’s agent.

Inter are currently in a period of transition.

The Nerazzurri have just changed owners. Last week, Oaktree Capital took over the club from Suning.

This has raised some doubts about the future plans at Inter.

Even the future of CEO Marotta, whose work has been pivotal for the past few years, has been in some question.

And then there have been recent reports regarding the status of a contract extension for Inter captain Lautaro Martinez.

The 26-year-old’s current deal runs out at the end of June 2026. And despite negotiations that have been going on for month, he has yet to pen an extension.

However, Inter CEO Marotta is not worried about any of this. The executive was in a confident mood as he spoke to reporters.

Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta Hits Out At “Jealous” Critics

Marotta said that “I can guarantee you that there will be total continuity in the management iof the club.

“I want to make clear that those who speak against us are driven by jealousy, and spread biased news that portrays a club in disarray,” the Inter CEO continued.

“But Inter is a club that’s alive and well, and in great shape,” Marotta said.

“Rest assured,” the executive added.

“With your help and the support of the players and the coach who are all top professionals, we can get great results.

“I think Inter should be considered one of the strongest teams in the world,” Marotta added.

“And we have to have the courage to aim high with our goals.”

Confidence On Lautaro Martinez Extension Despite Agent’s Comments

Meanwhile, Marotta also gave his thoughts on the contract extension talks with captain Martinez.

“We’re in regular talks with his agent,” the Inter CEO said.

“And agents always have their own interests to look after,” he aimed with a dig at Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano.

The Inter captain’s agent has given a couple of recent interviews in which he has hinted without much subtlety that the striker is seeking a larger pay increase than Inter have so far offered.

“However, I’m optimistic. Because every day Lautaro shows that he wants to stay here.”

“It’s not something that’s just going to get wrapped up in a few days,” Marotta cautioned.

“But we should certainly have his contract extended by the start of pre-season training,” the executive made very clear.
