Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez has entered the scene to unblock the contract negotiations between the club management and his agent Alejandro Camano.

The Argentina international has often reiterated his desire to remain at the club for years to come.

But in recent days, negotiations between his agent and the club were going south, mainly due to Camano’s salary demands.

The Spanish agent was reportedly asking for a net wage of 12 million euros which could also rise 16M in the following years.

But just when the talks between the two parties seemed on the verge of collapse, Lautaro himself stepped up to save the day.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri are willing to raise their offer to 9.5 million euros per year, and Martinez said yes to the proposal.

The offer could also include easily achievable bonuses.

Moreover, the Roman newspaper claims the player has also instructed his agent to drop his hefty requests.

Martinez also asked Camano to meet the Nerazzurri directors next week to finalize the operation.

Sky Sport Italia (via FcInterNews) is also reporting a similar story. The source mentions a 9M net salary in addition to bonuses.

The report believes that only details are missing before reaching a full agreement.

Martinez has been plying his trade with the Nerazzurri since 2018. He has gradually established himself as a main pillar at the club, and even inherited the captaincy last summer.

The Argentine won the Serie A MVP Award while also finishing as the league’s top scorer with 24 goals.
