A report in the Italian press names four possible candidates for Inter Milan presidency, including Oaktree officials and Beppe Marotta.

This US-based investment company took over the club last week following Suning’s default.

Departing president Steven Zhang failed to repay Oaktree’s debt on the due date. Hence, the Californian fund assumed control over the club.

On Tuesday, the club’s general assembly will meet to elect Zhang’s heir. Tuttosport (via FcInterNews) names four possible candidates for the role.

The first two profiles that the source mentions are Alejandro Cano and Katherine Ralph.

The duo have been acting as Oaktree’s main representatives at Inter, overseeing the takeover procedures.

The Turin-based newspaper suggests that Ralh, in particular, could be the main candidate for the role.

Nevertheless, the source believes Oaktree could be reluctant on the matter, as Cano and Ralph are considered essential for the company’s overall investments, so it remains to be seen if they can afford to place either of them in a permanent role at Viale della Liberazione.

Beppe Marotta & Oaktree Offiicals Emerge As Candidates For Inter Milan Presidency

The third candidate on the list is Carlo Marchetti. The Italian has been a member of Inter’s board of directors since June 2021.

Oaktree had placed Marchetti alongside Amadeo Carasei on the board to keep an eye on the club’s operations.

The source describes him as an influential person in the American company.

Finally, Tuttosport mentions Beppe Marotta as the fourth candidate to become club president.

Nevertheless, the report believes that the 67-year-old would prefer to remain in his post as CEO, overseeing the club’s sporting department rather than assuming different responsibilities.
