Roma and Udinese have reportedly joined Inter Milan in the race for Real Betis youngster Alex Perez.

The 18-year-old is a Spanish defender born in Madrid of Mozambican origins. He has already made his debut for Spain U18.

The central defender started his career at Real Vallecano before joining Real Betis in 2022. He currently plays for their second team Betis Deportivo.

According to Relevo via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri have been keeping tabs on the teenager.

However, the Oaktree-Suning debacle surrounding the club’s ownership halted the Nerazzurri’s sporting plans.

Oaktree have recently taken control of the club as Suning failed to repay their debt on the due date.

The only exception was Lautaro Martinez’s contract renewal, with the two parties reaching an agreement in principle yesterday.

On the other hand, the club reportedly hit the breaks on their attempts to sign Perez.

Hence, this has opened the door for other suitors to emerge and try to lure the teenage defender.

As the source explains, Udinese and Roma have both entered the race for the youngster. However, neither has made a concrete offer.

In the meantime, the Nerazzurri will be hoping to settle their corporate affairs as soon as possible and resume business as usual.

The club will hold a general assembly meeting on Tuesday to appoint a new board of directors. The shareholders will also elect a new president to replace Steven Zhang.
