Atalanta wingback Emil Holm has reportedly emerged as another possible candidate to replace Denzel Dumfries at Inter Milan.

The Dutchman’s future at San Siro remains in great doubt as his contract will expire in 2025.

The 27-year-old has thus far refused Inter’s extension offer, as he’s holding out for a higher salary. Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri are still hoping he’ll eventually accept a yearly wage of 4 million euros.

But if the white smoke doesn’t emerge soon enough, the Italian champions will be looking to sell Dumfries in the summer to avoid losing him for free a year later.

This would create a gap on the right flank, so the Nerazzurri will be looking to sign a new right wingback.

In recent days, the Beneamata have been linked with a host of profiles. The list includes Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Lazio wantaway Manuel Lazzari and Girona youngster Arnau Martinez.

But according to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, the Serie A giants are also keeping tabs on Atalanta’s Holm.

Inter Milan Keeping Tabs On Atalanta Wingback Emil Holm

The 24-year-old joined La Dea last summer on loan from Spezia. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side will most likely exercise their option to buy the player for 8 million euros.

However, this doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll stay in Bergamo for a second year.

Holm had his highs and lows this season. He had to fight for a starting berth against the more experienced Davide Zappacosta and Hans Hateboer, which limited his playing time.

In the end, the Sweden international finished his campaign with 31 appearances across all competitions. He scored a single, provided four assists and earned a Europa League medal.

The Roman newspaper considers Holm as a wingback who possesses the required physical and technical attributes to fit in Simone Inzaghi’s tactical setup.
