Legendary former midfielder Zbigniew Boniek believes new Inter Milan signing Piotr Zielinski has the quality to play for Real Madrid or Man City.

The Roma and Juventus legend praised the Polish international speaking to WP SportoweFakt, via FCInterNews. He argued that even with the competition in the Nerazzurri’s places, Zielinski has the quality to stake his claim.

In a few weeks’ time, Zielinski will become an Inter player.

The 30-year-old has played his last match with Napoli. He ends an eight-year spell with the Campanian club.

During his time at the Partenopei, Zielinski has cemented himself as a key player for the club.

The Polish international played a key role as Napoli won the Serie A title during the 2022-23 season.

But Zielinski has decided to end his adventure with Napoli. He will seek out a new challenge playing for Inter.

Zielinski has rejected the prospect of a transfer to stay at Napoli in the past.

But now, the Pole will be joining the newly-crowned Serie A champions.

Boniek: “New Inter Signing Piotr Zielinski Good Enough To Play For Real Madrid Or Man City”

In many ways, Zielinski will have his work cut out for him trying to establish himself at Inter.

Few would dispute that the Nerazzurri have had the strongest midfielder in Serie A over the season just gone.

The trio of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Nicolo Barella has had a balance that has been vital for the functioning of Inter’s 3-5-2 system as a whole.

It is that midfield unit which has won Inter the Serie A title.

Then, the likes of Davide Frattesi and Kristjan Asllani have only improved over the course of the season.

Those two younger players will certainly be hungry to establish a place for themselves.

But in the view of former Polish international Boniek, Zielinski “Chose very well.”

“He’s joining a strong team,” the former Juventus man and President of the Polish FA continued.

“He’ll be back playing in the Champions League.”

“Of course, there is immense competition for places,” Boniek observed. “But when Piotr is in form he can play for any team, from Real Madrid to Manchester City.”
