Simone Inzaghi is happy with the “continuity” that having Beppe Marotta as Inter Milan President will bring.

The Nerazzurri coach reacted to Marotta’s confirmation as President while speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

Inter have confirmed who their new club President will be.

Veteran executive Beppe Marotta has been handed the role, taking over from the departed Steven Zhang.

Marotta has already been Inter’s CEO of Sport for more than half a decade. And the 67-year-old will keep the role as well.

But the new role of President for Marotta is a clear sign from new Inter owners Oaktree Capital.

The new owners are keen to have the former Juventus and Sampdoria executive have an even more central role in the running of the club than he already did.

Inzaghi Happy With “Continuity” Of Beppe Marotta As Inter President

Marotta has been the primary architect of Inter’s transfer strategy since his arrival.

And it was also under the CEO and new President’s watch that the Nerazzurri brought in Inzaghi as coach, signing him from Lazio in the summer of 2021.

Marotta’s presence has been a source of stability at Inter during a period when, particularly in terms of the financial situation, there have been a lot of ups and downs.

The change in ownership from Suning to Oaktree was one more reason to be uncertainty.

But the fact that Marotta is at the helm means that there is a guiding vision in place.

And that can only be good news for Inzaghi as the 48-year-old coach aims to build on the work he’s already done.

“Marotta represents continuity,” the coach said. “I’m happy.”

“We all know the kind of person he is,” he added.

“He’ll definitely do well,” Inzaghi predicted of Marotta’s Presidency at the club.

Meanwhile, Inzaghi also addressed his contract extension situation at Inter.

“We will meet about it,” he said. “There’s no problem whatsoever. We have a great relationship.”
