Luciano Spalletti has revealed that Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella will miss this evening’s friendly between Italy & Turkey as a “precaution.”

Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI Radio, via FCInterNews, the Azzurri boss assured that the problem is nothing serious for Barella, and that he should be back to his best in a day or two.

Italy are now gearing up for the Euros.

With the tournament less than two weeks away, the Azzurri will have a couple of friendlies in which to gain some fluidity on the pitch.

This evening, Italy will take on Turkey.

Spalletti will be able to use the friendly matches as an opportunity to test out his team.

But this evening, the former Inter, Napoli, and Roma will be without one of his key players.

Spalletti has confirmed that Barella will not play any part for Italy in this evening’s friendly match.

Rather, the priority is for the 27-year-old to rest up.

Spalletti: Nicolo Barella Out For Italy Vs Turkey As “Precaution:

Spalletti said before this evening’s match that “There are a couple of players dealing with fatigue.”

“But it’s just natural fatigue,” the Italy coach said.

The players are just coming out of a long and gruelling club season.

“Precisely because we have such a small margin of time, we won’t risk them,” Spalletti said.

“One of these is Barella,” the Italy coach made clear. “He’ll be out this evening, to avoid any unpleasant surprises.”

Spalletti made clear that “Barella has trained very well. We can manage his fitness.”

“He just needs a day or two of rest, and then he’ll be fine.”

Barella is set to be a key player for Italy at the Euros this summer.

The former Cagliari midfielder had been a part of the Italy starting eleven that won the last edition of the competition. And now, his importance to the team has only increased.
