Albania coach Sylvinho feels that Inter Milan midfielder Kristjan Asllani is a “great player” with “technical ability and personality.”

Speaking to the official UEFA YouTube channel, via FCInterNews, the coach gave his thoughts on the 22-year-old who is set to play a key role for his country at the Euros this summer.

Asllani is far from a regular starter for Inter.

That’s not to say that the former Empoli midfielder is a peripheral figure for the Nerazzurri.

Asllani made a total of 23 appearances for Inter in Serie A during the season just gone. He scored his first goal for the club in the process, and also assisted a further two goals.

Moreover, the fact that Inter sold Marcelo Brozovic last summer means that Asllani is the first-choice backup to Hakan Calhanoglu.

And the Albanian has never really looked out of his depth when Calhanoglu has been out with injury or suspension, or needed a rest.

But backup is still the primary role for Asllani at Inter. At least at this stage.

Albania Coach Sylvinho Hails Kristjan Asllani: “Technical Ability & Personality”

It is a bit of a different situation for the 22-year-old’s national team.

Asllani is in fact a key player in midfield for Albania. He is all but certain to be a regular starter for the Eagles in their EURO 2024 campaign.

Albania’s first match of the tournament comes against Italy, where Asllani is likely to meet some of his club teammates.

Albania’s coach Sylvinho feels that Asllani is an important part of his team for the upcoming Euros.

“Kristjan is technically gifted,” said the coach and former defender.

“He’s excellent with both feet,” he went on.

Abania coach Sylvinho said of Asllani that “He’s technical, young, and still forging his path.”

“As with any player who’s 21 or 22 years old.”

Sylvinho said that Asllani has “Technical ability, and a lot of personality. He’s a great player.”
