Christian Chivu has completed his departure as coach of Inter Milan’s Under-19 team.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, also report that the Nerazzurri have lined up Under-18 coach Andrea Zanchetta as the Romanian’s replacement.

Chivu has been the coach of Inter’s Primavera, or Under-19, team for the last three years.

The former defender took over in the role in the summer of 2021. Prior to that, he had held other youth team coaching positions at the Nerazzurri.

Before he began coaching, Chivu enjoyed a decorated playing career.

The Romanian played for the likes of Ajax and Roma. But it was with Inter where he really enjoyed the most success.

Chivu was a key part of the Inter team that won the European Treble consisting of the Serie A title, the Coppa Italia, and the Champions League in the 2009-10 season.

Tuttosport report that Chivu was at Inter head quarters yesterday, with the Primavera team.

New Nerazzurri President Beppe Marotta met with the players in the youth team, as well as with Chivu.

It was here that the Under-19 coach said his goodbye to the club.

Chivu had already announced that he would be on his way. Therefore, this was the 42-year-old’s last visit to the Nerazzurri headquarters.

It is not yet certain where the Romanian will go next.

However, there are reports of a number of clubs in appointing Chivu. The former defender could move into working with a senior team rather than youth players.

Meanwhile, for Inter there is the task of replacing Chivu.

And according to Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri already have a clear idea of who will fill the Romanian’s shoes.

Tuttosport report that Andrea Zanchetta will become the new Primavera coach at Inter. He has been in charge of the Under-18s for the last three years.
