Inter Milan are on the verge of sealing a two-year contract extension for coach Simone Inzaghi.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that tomorrow will be the decisive meeting for a new deal. Then the club and coach will sit down to hammer out transfer plans for this summer.

At the moment, Inzaghi is under contract with Inter until the end of next June.

But that will soon change. The Nerazzurri have long been planning to hand the 48-year-old a new deal.

And it won’t just be a one-year bumper deal like Inzaghi’s last couple contract extensions.

Rather, Inter have offered the former Lazio coach a two-year extension, until the end of June 2027.

There have already been negotiations with Inzaghi’s agent Tullio Tinti.

Tomorrow, the Gazzetta report, Inter will meet with Tinti one last time.

This should be the final round of talks, and then Inzaghi can put pen to paper and commit his future to the Nerazzurri.

Not Just New Inter Contract For Simone Inzaghi – Transfer Summit Also Expected

Yesterday’s appointment of a new board of directors was the decisive step to end the period of transition at Inter under new owners Oaktree Capital.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri are likely to make a new contract for Inzaghi the first major action under the new board.

But that will just be the first of a number of important pieces of business.

New long-term deals for Lautaro Martinez and Nicolo Barella won’t be far behind.

And the Gazzetta report that Inter coach Inzaghi will also sit down with the Nerazzurri’s transfer team soon as well.

The coach and club directors will finally formulate the strategy for the summer transfer window.

Inter have a busy summer ahead of them. Amid EURO 2024 and the Copa America, the club are planning out their squad for what promises to be a hectic and demanding season ahead.

And soon, Inzaghi and the Inter senior management will set their strategy in stone.
