Whether it is staying in the San Siro or building in Rozzano, Inter Milan will prioritize the stadium plan with the fastest timeline.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

New Inter owners Oaktree Capital want to get moving on the new stadium project.

Sorting out the situation is one of the major priorities for the new Nerazzurri owners.

A new – or at least modernized – stadium would be vital to Inter being able to increase revenues.

As things stand, the San Siro is not able to generate revenues commensurate with those from the stadiums of Europe’s other big clubs.

Therefore, both Inter and AC Milan have been pushing to build a new stadium.

The two clubs had initially aimed to demolish the San Siro and build a new stadium in its place.

After these plans became impossible, the clubs went their separate ways. Inter in Rozzano, and Milan in San Donato.

However, in recent months, Milan Mayor Beppe Sala has aimed to convince the clubs to stay at the San Siro.

The Mayor’s idea is that major renovations to the iconic stadium could allow the clubs to significantly increase revenues from it.

San Siro Or Rozzano – Inter To Prioritize Fastest Stadium Timeline

This is basically the situation that Oaktree have inherited from previous Inter owners Suning.

This month, there will be the results of a feasibility study on renovating the San Siro.

The new Inter owners will be evaluate whether they want to go in that direction, or stick with plans in Rozzano.

And according to Tuttosport, one priority above all will guide the Inter owners’ decision.

Oaktree will likely go with whichever option has a faster timeline.

The new Nerazzurri owners do not want to waste any time in beginning construction. They see having a new stadium as absolutely vital for increasing the revenues – and hence value – of Inter.
