A report in the Italian press reveals when Inter Milan could finally announce the contract extension of their head coach Simone Inzaghi.

The 48-year-old has been at the club’s helm since making the switch from Lazio in the summer of 2021.

The Piacenza native has thus far won six titles since arriving at Appiano Gentile. But the most significant is undoubtedly the Serie A title which unlocked the club’s second star.

Therefore, the hierarchy is looking to reward the manager with a new deal that includes a pay rise.

Moreover, Inzaghi’s current deal is only valid until the end of next season. Hence, the club doesn’t want to start the campaign with their manager running on an expiring contract.

So according to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, the management is aiming to announce the coach’s renewal as soon as possible.

As the Roman newspaper explains, Inter’s pre-season campaign kicks off on July 13th. This will be preceded by Inzaghi’s press conference on July 12th, so the club might take the opportunity to make the official announcement.

Nevertheless, the source notes that the two parties are still ironing out the final details in their agreement.

While Inter are offering a new deal valid until 2026, the coach is holding out for a contract running until 2027.

There are also small gaps regarding the salary and various bonuses.

However, Inter will launch a new attempt next week in the hopes of reaching a definitive agreement with their manager.
