Inter Milan are aiming to announce a contract extension for coach Simone Inzaghi before the start of the team’s preseason training camp.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908. The newspaper anticipate a new meeting in the next few days.

For the time being, Inzaghi’s contract at Inter runs until the end of next June.

The 48-year-old signed his most recent extension with the Nerazzurri last summer.

However, Inter will certainly want to extend their coach’s deal this summer.

According to the Corriere, Inter’s intention is to hand Inzaghi another one-year bumper deal.

That would be the same approach as the Nerazzurri took in each of the last two summers since Inzaghi’s arrival from Lazio in the summer of 2021, when he signed a two-year contract.

Inter Milan Keen To Announce New Simone Inzaghi Contract Before Preseason

According to the Corriere, Inter’s President and CEO Beppe Marotta and Sporting Director Beppe Marotta should hold a new round of talks with Inzaghi’s agent Tullio Tinti in the next dew days.

Today, Marotta and Ausilio are in Rimini for the official opening of the Italian transfer window.

But the executives will look to sort out Inzaghi’s new deal shortly.

The Corriere report that in their next meeting with Tinti, Marotta and Ausilio will insist on a one-year extension for Inzaghi, rather than a contract until the end of June 2027.

And Inter’s aim is to have the new contract for Inzaghi in place by a specific date.

July 13th will be when Inter’s squad starts to assemble for their preseason training camp.

And that will be when Inzaghi starts his work in preparing for next season. Inter will go into the campaign as Italian champions.

The Nerazzurri’s hope is that Inzaghi has already signed his new contract by the time he starts work in preseason.
