Inter Milan Sporting Director Piero Ausilio feels that Hakan Calhanoglu has made his situation at the club perfectly clear.

The Nerazzurri Sporting Director addressed the 30-year-old’s future speaking to Radio Tv Serie A, via FCInterNews.

Midfielder Calhanoglu was at the centre of a firestorm of transfer rumours a week ago.

The situation was brief – really only lasting a few days. But it was intense, with multiple reports linking the Turkish international with German giants Bayern Munich.

Reportedly, Bayern had held a couple of meetings with Calhanoglu’s agent.

The Bavarians would have been ready to offer the Inter midfielder a four-year contract. This would be on higher wages than he currently earns at the Nerazzurri.

And furthermore, reports indicated that Inter would have been willing to listen to very high offers for Calhanoglu.

Bayern were even weighing up a bid as high as 70 million according to some reports.

Ausilio: “Hakan Calhanoglu Has Made Situation At Inter Clear For Next Few Years”

At first, Calhanoglu did not comment on the rumours linking him to Bayern.

The 30-year-old had the Euros to worry about, where he is captain of the Turkish national team.

However, the rumours persisted and became stronger.

Eventually, Calhanoglu took the decision to make a statement clarifying the matter. He intervened to reassure the Inter fans who had been seeing nonstop transfer rumours for a few days.

And in his Instagram post on the matter, Calhanoglu left no doubt.

The former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder stressed that he is “extremely happy” at Inter and wants to stay and fight for more trophies.

And as far as Inter Sporting Director Ausilio is concerned, this was the definitive word.

“He spoke about it,” the Inter executive said in response to a question about Calhanoglu’s future.

“Calha spoke. And I think he broadly defined his situation for this summer, and also for the next few years.”
