Sampdoria are close to completing a deal to sign teenage Inter Milan midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro on loan.

This according to today’s print edition of Genoa-based newspaper Il Seccolo XIX, via FCInterNews. The newspaper also report that Inter are increasingly pushing to sign young defender Giovanni Leoni.

Akinsanmiro was part of Inter’s youth team setup last season.

The teenage midfielder has been playing for the Nerazzurri’s Primavera team since his arrival last year.

Inter beat the likes of Real Madrid and Benfica to Akinsanmiro’s signature.

The Nigerian’s talent had caught the eye of a number of clubs. But Inter were the team to convince him with their project.

And the 19-year-old already made one appearance for Inter’s senior team last season.

Akinsanmiro came off the bench for the Nerazzurri in a 4-0 Serie A win away to Lecce in the spring.

However, now the time has come for the young Nigerian to start playing senior football more regularly.

A loan deal always looked the likely route for Akinsanmiro. And according to Il Seccolo XIX, it will be in Liguria that the teenage midfielder starts to spread his wings.
