Former Juventus star Massimo Mauro has fired a warning shot at Inter Milan amidst Thiago Motta’s comprehensive squad overhaul in Turin.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by FCInterNews, Mauro admitted the ongoing revolution at the Allianz Stadium ‘intrigues him.’

Juventus long seemed capable of challenging Inter’s Scudetto credentials last term.

However, Massimiliano Allegri’s charges proved an idle threat after falling apart in the second half of the season.

Four years without making a genuine Scudetto push signalled the end of Allegri’s second stint in Turin.

After leading overachieving Bologna to an unlikely Champions League finish in 2023/24, Motta has earned Juventus’ call.

Aware of the gap between them and Inter, the record-time Serie A champions have got the summer transfer window off to a fast start.

In a desperate attempt to close the gap on Simone Inzaghi’s high-flyers, Juventus have signed Douglas Luiz and Michele Di Gregorio.

But these arrivals should be just two of many as they prepare to announce the signing of Khephren Thuram.

His brother, Marcus Thuram, enjoyed a sensational maiden season in Italy, helping Inter dethrone Napoli in remarkable fashion.

Meanwhile, Juventus were nowhere to be seen in the end.

Massimo Mauro Warns Inter Milan That Juventus Revolution Could Threaten Their Title Defence

“I’m intrigued by the new epochal revolution that Juventus is trying to make,” the former Juventus midfielder stated.

“When a new cycle begins, it’s right to change a lot. It’s always been like that in football.

“Without taking anything away from those who were there before,” Mauro continued.

“I think Juventus needed fresh air to recreate enthusiasm.”

Despite praising Juventus effort to bolster their squad, he believes Inter will commence the new season as Scudetto favourites.

“It’s still too early for these talks. Inter celebrated their last Scudetto and will start in pole position.”
