It was a memorable group stage for Austria. They bounced back from an opening day defeat against France with impressive wins over Poland and the Netherlands.
But then in the round of sixteen, Austria could not get past Turkey.
Facing a team captained by Arnautovic’s Inter teammate Hakan Calhanoglu, Austria lost a thrilling 2-1 knockout clash.
