Inter Milan are reportedly eyeing five younger defenders as they look to add some fresh blood to their aging backline.

Although the Nerazzurri already have relatively young centre-backs like Alessandro Bastoni and Yann Bisseck, they’re still relying on 36-year-old Francesco Acerbi and 32-year-old Stefan de Vrij.

Therefore, the management is looking to lower the average age of their defenders by adding new names to the ranks.

According to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, the Italian champions have five central defenders on their shortlist.

The first is Poland international Jakub Kiwior. The 24-year-old made a name for himself in Serie A with Spezia before earning a move to Arsenal in January 2023.

However, the Pole has already been struggling for playing time at the Emirates Stadium. And with the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori, he risks becoming surplus to requirements.

The second name on the list is Real Betis teenager Alex Perez. The 19-year-old’s contract will expire next year and is refusing to sign a renewal with the Andalusian club.

Many sources believe the Spaniard is close to finalizing his move to the Nerazzurri. He could initially join the club’s Primavera ranks.

Then we have Genoa’s Johan Vazquez. The 25-year-old Mexican has been on the Grifone’s books since 2021. His contract with the Ligurian side is valid until June 2027.

Moreover, Inter are still keen to poach Sampdoria teenager Giovanni Leoni. The 17-year-old made his big breakthrough in Serie B last season under the guidance of Andrea Pirlo.

Finally, the Nerazzurri could consider bringing back their youth product Lorenzo Pirola. The 22-year-old made his move to Salernitana permanent last summer, but his club suffered relegation to the second division.

As the source notes, the Italian’s status as a homegrown player could come in handy for the Champions League list.
