Marseille are still pushing to sign attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni from Inter Milan.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio. He reported live on air this evening that the French club believe they believe they can secure the Argentine’s signature.

Ligue 1 side Marseille have come forward as the team with the strongest interest in signing Carboni this summer. At least for the time being.

New Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi who is keen on a deal for Carboni.

The 45-year-old joined the French club this summer, after leaving Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of last season.

De Zerbi sees Carboni as a major target as far as shaping the team in his image starting next season.

And therefore, the French club are serious about trying to sign Carboni.

Inter certainly will not let the teenage attacking midfielder go for cheap.

The Nerazzurri sent Carboni out on loan to Monza last season. There, he got his first regular experience in senior football.

And Inter hardly want to lose control of the 19-year-old’s future permanently. Even if he does not currently have a place in their first team plans.

And according to Di Marzio, the French side have not given up in their interest in the 19-year-old.

The Sky transfer expert reports that the Ligue 1 team believe that they can secure an agreement for the Argentine international.

Key to this is the insistence of new Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Sassuolo boss has attempted to convince the teenage Argentine attacking midfielder.

And Marseille are still of the view that they will be able to sign Carboni this summer transfer window.
