Inter Milan have reportedly delayed the official announcement of the signing of Mehdi Taremi until Saturday.

The Iranian’s imminent arrival has been one of the worst-kept secrets at Appiano Gentile.

The Nerazzurri had found an agreement with the player and his entourage several months ago, reportedly since January.

The 31-year-old saw out his contract with Porto and bid the club farewell, making him a free agent.

But Inter have already announced the signings of Piotr Zielinski and Josep Martinez, the club supporters have been made to wait for Taremi’s unveiling.

And while previous reports expected the announcement to come but Friday, the club has delayed it to Saturday.

Nevertheless, Tuttosport (via FcInterNews) assures that the postponement is only due to logistic reasons.

As the Turin-based newspaper explains, Friday will be a busy day for the club. Inter president Beppe Marotta and head coach Simone Inzaghi will launch the new campaign with their first press conference of the season.

Therefore, the management decided it was best to postpone Taremi’s official announcement until Saturday.

Inter Milan To Announce Mehdi Taremi Signing On Saturday

The source adds that the Iran international is ready and raring to go. The experienced striker will be looking to take full advantage of the absence of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

The Argentina and France star will join the club’s pre-season camp at a relatively late date due to their international commitments.

Therefore, Taremi will be looking to seize the opportunity and convince Inzaghi to hand him a starting berth on the opening day of the Serie A season against Genoa.

The striking department also includes Marko Arnautovic. The Austrian veteran wasn’t too convincing last season, but still has a contract for another year.

On the other hand, Alexis Sanchez left the club after seeing out his one-year deal.
