Inter Milan are willing to sell Valentin Carboni this summer, but only if they were to receive a bid worthy of his great promise.
The 19-year-old spent the previous campaign on loan at Monza. His performances were impressive enough to warrant a call-up from Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni for the Copa America.
But despite his exploits, the 19-year-old’s future at Appiano Gentile remains uncertain.
The attacking midfielder could struggle to earn a place at Simone Inzaghi’s court this season. Hence, the management might decide to sacrifice him in order to raise transfer funds.
News reports have been linking the young man with a host of admirers, including Fiorentina and Lazio.
But in recent days, Olympique Marseille emerged as the new favorites to land Carboni.
The Ligue 1 side is struggling in its pursuit of Mason Greenwood, so they could turn their attention to the Argentina international.
Inter Milan Request At Least €35 Million For Valentin Carboni
Nevertheless, Italian football journalist Alfredo Pedulla insists OM have yet to get close to Inter’s asking price.
The transfer market guru believes the Nerazzurri won’t let Carboni slip off their hands for anything less than 35 million euros.
“Inter value Carboni at a minimum of 35 million,” said the journalist on his YouTube channel via FcInter1908.
“You can get there with bonuses, but you have to get to that figure, maybe even a little more.
“This is because the Nerazzurri consider him a rough jewel that can become a diamond. There have been offers of 20 million.”
Moreover, Pedulla expects Inter to try and insert a buy-back clause in any possible sale as they believe the player could explode this term.
“Inter would always try to include a buy-back option. The club is convinced that with another season at a high level, he could definitely explode.
“There is full-court pressure from De Zerbi. But for now, Marseille do not want to spend this sum. So at the moment, we are not close to reaching an agreement.”
