An offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad could prove to be too enticing for Inter Milan veteran Marko Arnautovic to reject.

The Austrian rejoined the Nerazzurri for a second spell last summer, signing a two-year contract.

Last term, the 35-year-old had a few bouts with injury and wasn’t always at his best physically. This took its toll on his performances on the pitch which were somewhat underwhelming.

The former West Ham and Bologna Striker acted as a backup to the attacking duo of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram. He never truly threatened to carve himself a starting place.

And with Mehdi Taremi joining Simone Inzaghi’s ranks, Arnautovic will likely further fall down in the coach’s pecking order.

So according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInter1908, the attacker could be tempted by a proposal from Al-Ittihad.

As the source explains, the Saudi giants tried to acquire Inter defender Stefan de Vrij when Stefano Pioli was about to take the reins.

Al-Ittihad Could Tempt Inter Milan Striker Marko Arnautovic To Join Them

However, the agreement with the former AC Milan coach eventually collapsed. So now, Al-Ittihad are reportedly close to finding an accord with former France defender and manager Laurent Blanc.

At the moment, the situation regarding the Dutch defender isn’t clear. We shall wait and see if he’ll remain a target for the Arabic club despite the change in the coaching staff.

Nevertheless, the pink newspaper feels that an offer from KSA could be enough to sway Arnautovic.

The Nerazzurri management could also be in favor of the move. The Austrian’s departure would allow them to free space in the squad and on the wage bill.

This could pave the way for a new arrival this summer. Albert Gudmundsson has been linked with a move to Inter in case Arnautovic were to leave.
