Coach Simone Inzaghi has signed a contract extension with Inter Milan tying him to the club until the end of June 2026.

The Nerazzurri have confirmed the new deal for the 48-year-old coach in an official announcement.

Inzaghi has just come to the end of his third season in charge of Inter.

The coach joined the Nerazzurri from Lazio in the summer of 2021.

Inzaghi had already established an impressive reputation for himself in Italian football during his five seasons on the Biancocelesti bench.

But Inter was not just a step up for Inzaghi – he also faced the daunting task of replacing Antonio Conte.

In the summer of 2021, Inter sold the likes of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku for massive transfer fees

And the Nerazzurri were not able to reinvest significantly, due to ambitious financial targets.

Financial restrictions have been a key theme during the last three years with Inzaghi in charge of Inter.

In spite of having to work within these tight financial constraints, Inzaghi has guided Inter to trophies in every season he’s been in charge.

The Nerazzurri have won the Coppa Italia twice and the Supercoppa Italiana three times under the former Lazio coach.

And this past season, Inzaghi guided Inter to the Serie A title. This was the twentieth in the club’s history, and Inzaghi’s first as a coach.

Meanwhile, last season Inter reached the final of the Champions League under Inzaghi.

The 48-year-old’s previous contract had been set to expire at the end of June of next year.

In each of the past two summers, Inter have handed Inzaghi a one-year bumper deal.

But this time around, in recognition of the coach’s work bringing the Serie A title back to the club, Inter have handed Inzaghi a two-year contract extension instead.

Inzaghi is now under contract with Inter until the end of June 2026.
