Simone Inzaghi could earn as much as €3 million in add-ons on his new contract with Inter Milan.
Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, report that the massive add-ons could be triggered if Inter win every competition they are in next season.
Now it’s official. Inter have confirmed that 48-year-old former Lazio coach Inzaghi has signed a new deal until the end of June 2026.
This is certainly no surprise. It was only ever a matter of “when” rather than “if” the coach would extend his contract.
And the timing is not a coincidence.
Inter are beginning preseason preparations, with Inzaghi starting work in training with a number of members of the squad this weekend.
Yesterday, the coach as well as Inter President Beppe Marotta spoke at the preseason press conference.
How €3M Add-Ons Could Be Triggered In Simone Inzaghi Inter Contract Extension
Inzaghi’s new deal will make him the highest-paid coach in Serie A.
The 48-year-old will earn around €6.5 million net per season on his new contract.
But that is only before taking any potential add-ons into consideration.
Tuttosport report that Inzaghi could bump up his earnings by as much as €3 million if he is to trigger every add-on in the deal.
That will not be easy, though.
The newspaper report that, in order for Inzaghi to trigger the add-ons in full, he would have to guide Inter to win every trophy on offer next season.
Reportedly, there is a Serie A title bonus worth €1 million on its own in the coach’s new deal.
That is a trophy that Inter won last season.
But then there will also be the matter of four other competitions that Inter are in next season.
The Nerazzurri will play for the Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana, Champions League, and Club World Cup next season.
