Juventus Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli has reportedly inquired about Hellas Verona left-back and Inter Milan transfer target Juan Cabal.

Over the last 24 hours or so, the Colombian has surfaced as a primary candidate to join the Nerazzurri.

The Italian champions are on the lookout for a new left-footed defender capable of playing either as centre-back or a wingback.

The club owners Oaktree Capital also prefer him to be a young profile who can raise the value of the squad.

For his part, Cabal ticks all the boxes.

As we reported earlier, Inter and Verona continue to negotiate a deal for the 23-year-old. The operation could also see Nerazzurri U19 starlet Issiaka Kamate heading in the opposite direction.

But according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Juventus could attempt to sabotage the deal.

As the source reveals, the Bianconeri’s director of football Giuntoli had a phone call with Verona president Maurizio Setti to inquire about Cabal.

For now, Pedulla describes it as a mere “disturbing action” on Giuntoli’s part.

The former Napoli sporting director has a knack for spreading seeds across the market before settling on one target.

Hence, the journalist doesn’t believe Cabal to be a priority for the Turin-based giants.

Juventus Ask Hellas Verona About Inter Milan Transfer Target Juan Cabal

Nevertheless, this incident should be enough to alarm Inter who are keen to sign the Colombian left-back.

The Italian champions have already made significant progress on this particular track over the past two days.

Therefore, Inter could try to further accelerate their attempts to cut the path on any surprising onslaught from Giuntoli or any other party for that matter.

Cabal has been playing his football at the Bentegodi Stadium since making the move from Atletico National in 2022. His contract with the Gialloblu runs until June 2027.
