Iranian international striker Mehdi Taremi says that joining Inter Milan is a “dream come true” for him and the “best moment” of his life.

The 31-year-old gave his first ever interview as a Nerazzurri player, via FCInterNews. He also expressed his hunger to score and assist many goals for Inter.

Now everything is official. Taremi is an Inter player.

The Iranian’s move to the Nerazzurri has not been any great secret.

Inter have reportedly had an agreement in hand with Taremi since January, when they began official negotiations to sign him on a free transfer once his contract with Porto expired.

And the Nerazzurri’s interest in signing Taremi in fact stretches back even further than that.

Inter had reportedly been targeting the Iranian last summer, although they were never able to agree a deal with Porto to sign him.

Mehdi Taremi: Joining Inter Milan “A Dream Come True”

“I’m very happy to be here,” Taremi said. “For me this is a dream come true.”

“I have to say that this is the best moment of my life,” the 31-year-old continued.

Taremi declared that “Serie A is one of the most prestigious leagues in the world.”

“I’ll try to do my best, as I’ve always done up to this point. I want to give the best version of myself here at Inter.”

“As a striker, I have to score goals and make assists,” Taremi continued. “I have to win matches which is the most important thing for the team.”

“Inter is a great club. It’s about winning as many matches as possible.”

Taremi said that “We have to focus on that goal, and give our all to achieve it.”

“Winning is something that happens with the support of everyone. The coaching staff, the players, and the entire club. Step by step, until we reach our goal.”
