Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has become the highest paid coach in Serie A on his new contract with Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inzaghi has officially extended his contract with Inter until the end of June 2026.

Yesterday, the Nerazzurri officially confirmed that the 48-year-old has penned an extension.

Inzaghi has been Inter coach since the summer of 2021. That was when he arrived from Lazio to take the place of Antonio Conte.

And it is in fact Conte who Inzaghi now overtakes as the highest-paid coach in Serie A.

Former Nerazzurri, Juventus, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur boss Conte has taken over at Napoli, aiming to bring the Partenopei back into title contention after a disastrous 2023-24 season.

Inzaghi has overtaken Conte as well as the likes of new Juventus and Milan coaches Thiago Motta and Paulo Fonseca respectively, however.

The former Lazio coach will reportedly earn wages of around 6.5 million net per season on his new contract with Inter.

This will be in addition to significant add-ons.

Inter are rewarding Inzaghi for not just last season, which saw the Nerazzurri win the Serie A title.

There is also the sense that, season on season, there has been an upward trajectory under Inzaghi.

In the 2022-23 season, Inzaghi’s second as Inter coach, the Nerazzurri reached the final of the Champions League.

And now, this summer, Inter’s preseason under their coach officially begins.

Today is that day that the Nerazzurri squad starts to assemble to begin work for next campaign.

Inter will certainly start out with the expectation of fighting to retain their Serie A title. And also another European knockout run, after last season’s disappointing round of sixteen exit.
