Inter Milan could include Under-19 winger Issiaka Kamate as part of their offer to Hellas Verona for defender Juan Cabal.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri could aim to lower the cash fee with the inclusion of the 19-year-old Frenchman.
Inter are aiming to sign 23-year-old defender Cabal from Verona.
The reason for this is that the Nerazzurri want to reinforce the left side of their defense.
The long-term injury to Tajon Buchanan means that Carlos Augusto will have to play primarily or exclusively at wingback next season.
Therefore, with the Brazilian not available to back up Alessandro Bastoni in the squad, Inter will sign a new left-footed defender.
Mediaset note that Inter have been evaluating the possibility of bringing in Mario Hermoso or Ricardo Rodriguez on free transfers following the end of their deals with Atletico Madrid and Torino respectively.
However, the broadcaster reports, Nerazzurri owners Oaktree Capital prefer to invest in a younger player rather than signing a veteran on a free transfer.
Inter Could Offer Issiaka Kamate + Cash For Verona Defender Juan Cabal
It is Verona defender Cabal who Inter are focusing their efforts on.
The Colombian has proven himself capable of playing either at left-back or centre-back.
This makes Cabal a fairly ideal profile to play on the left of the back three.
Therefore, Mediaset reports, it is the Verona defender who Inter are pushing to sign.
The Nerazzurri are ready to start negotiating seriously with Verona. They have already met with Cabal’s representatives.
And the Gialloblu want a fee of around €10 million for Cabal. That is their cash valuation for the 23-year-old.
However, Inter could aim to lower the size of the cash fee for Cabal with the inclusion of a player going the other way.
According to Mediaset, young French winger Kamate could be that player.
The 19-year-old has been part of Inter’s youth setup since 2020, when he joined from French club Montfermeil.
