Inter Milan have been offered Manchester City wingback Joao Cancelo, but have turned down the chance to bring the 29-year-old back.
This according to SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla. He reports in a YouTube video that the Portuguese’s agent has offered him to both the Nerazzurri and Juventus.
Cancelo is a player who looks likely to be on the move this summer.
The 29-year-old is a player who English champions Manchester City will undoubtedly want to offload once and for all during the transfer window.
Cancelo has completely fallen out with City coach Pep Guardiola.
Cancelo is currently under contract with the Citzyens until the end of June 2027.
But City will not want to loan the Portuguese international out again. He spent last season out on loan with Barcelona, and had been at Bayern on loan for the second half of the 2022-23 campaign.
Therefore, Cancelo’s agent Jorge Mendes has been sounding out possible next moves for the 29-year-old.
Inter Milan Turn Down Offer To Bring Back Joao Cancelo
One possibility that Cancelo would welcome would be a return to Serie A.
The Portuguese spent two seasons in the Italian top flight.
During the 2017-18 season, Cancelo played for Inter on loan from Valencia. Then Juventus swooped in to sign him on a permanent basis in the summer of 2018.
Therefore, returns to either the Nerazzurri or the Bianconeri are possibilities that Cancelo’s agent Mendes has sounded out.
Pedulla reports that Mendes has made a couple contacts with both clubs.
But in the case of Inter, there would be no chance of Cancelo coming back.
Pedulla reports that Inter have made it clear that they do not consider signing a player of Cancelo’s age within their parameters considering the finances that would be involved in such a deal.
Therefore, there will be no surprise return for Cancelo to Inter this summer.
