Striker Mehdi Taremi has already hit the ground running in his first training session as an Inter Milan player.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The Gazzetta report that Taremi has already scored in a training match for the Nerazzurri.

Yesterday, Inter confirmed the arrival of Taremi on a free transfer.

The Iranian’s signing has not been in doubt for a long time.

Inter have been working to sign the 31-year-old for months. In January, they secured an agreement with the player that he would join on a free transfer when his contract with Porto expired.

And with Taremi’s deal with Porto having run out at the end of last month, he has now become an Inter player.

Mehdi Taremi Hits The Ground Running At Inter Milan

Yesterday, Taremi was part of Inter’s first training session of the preseason period ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

And according to the Gazzetta, the Iranian started off with a bang.

The newspaper report that Taremi found the back of the net during Inter’s training match in the first session of preseason.

By all accounts, Taremi is hungry to settle in very quick and start showing his best form in an Inter shirt.

And if the 31-year-old can do so, Inter have the proposition of a very formidable attack.

As the Gazzetta note, Taremi has hit double figures in every season of his career as a professional, apart from his first ever with Iranian club Persepolis.

Last season, Inter had two strikers in double figures for goals. Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

Then, Taremi comes in as a reinforcement who is more than just a backup to that duo.

Inter could have three strikers hit double figures next season.

The last time that happened was in the 2004-05 campaign. The Nerazzurri had all of Adriano, Christian Vieri, and Obafemi Martins then.
