Inter Milan are considering teenage midfielder Luca Di Maggio out on loan to a team in Serie B next season.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it. The Gazzetta report that it could be a similar trajectory to midfielder Giovanni Fabbian for the 19-year-old.

Di Maggio is a player who has come through the youth ranks at Inter.

Last season, the young midfielder regularly played for the Nerazzurri’s Primavera team under Christian Chivu.

Di Maggio is very much a player who has marked himself out with hid goalscoring abilities.

Making 109 appearances for the Primavera so far, the 19-year-old has found the back of the net 22 times. And this has been playing as a box-to-box midfielder.

And Di Maggio’s goalscoring abilities were once again on display at the Under-19 Euros.

Playing for Italy, the Inter youth team midfielder scored in a victory over their Norway counterparts yesterday.

Inter Could Send Luca Di Maggio On Serie B Loan Next Season

Now, Inter will have to decide what to do with Di Maggio in the immediate future.

The sense is certainly that the teenage midfielder is now ready to take his first steps into senior football.

And according to the Gazzetta, the next step for Di Maggio could be a loan move.

The newspaper anticipate that it could be a move to a team in the Italian second division.

In that respect, Di Maggio’s next step could very much resemble the path that had been taken by another player from Inter’s youth academy system who had an eye for goal – Giovanni Fabbian.

In 2022, Fabbian joined Reggina on loan in Serie B. And this proved to be a very successful first foray into senior football for the young midfielder.

Inter sold Fabbian to Bologna last summer. But they have a buyback clause on the young midfielder that becomes active next summer.
