Inter Milan are ahead of Real Madrid and Liverpool with the most goals at EURO 2024 and the Copa America this summer.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

This summer, a good chunk of Inter’s squad has been in action between the Euros and the Copa America.

The results were mixed for the Nerazzurri’s players.

Midfielder Kristjan Asllani could not get beyond the group stage of EURO 2024 with Albania. Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri’s Italian players faced a bitter round of sixteen exit at the hands of Switzerland.

Two Inter players each were in the France and Netherlands squads that reached the Euros semifinals.

And Inter captain Lautaro Martinez powered Argentina to a Copa America triumph. That is the Albiceleste’s second in a row.

For the rest of the Nerazzurri’s squad it’s been somewhere in between.

But along the way, one thing that Inter players have been doing a lot of has been finding the back of the net.

Inter Milan Lead Real Madrid & Liverpool For EURO 2024 & Copa America Goals

The most eye-catching Inter player of the summer has been captain Martinez.

The 26-year-old started just two of Argentina’s matches at the Copa America. But that did not prevent him from scoring five goals at the tournament.

Then, Martinez’s club teammates matched him collectively with their exploits at the Euros.

Both Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella and defender Alessandro Bastoni got on the scoresheet in Italy’s group stage opener against Albania.

Then, Hakan Calhanoglu and Marko Arnautovic scored from the penalty spot against Czechia and the Netherlands respectively.

And Inter defender Stefan de Vrij scored a crucial goal for the Netherlands in a quarterfinal win over Turkey.

That takes Inter’s total for international tournament goals this summer to ten.

That’s two more than Real Madrid, who have eight. Liverpool, meanwhile, can boast seven goals from their players at the two major international tournaments this summer.

Six goals apiece have come from players at German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

And then it’s five each from Manchester City, Manchester United, Crystal Palace, Paris Saint-Germain, and Barcelona players.
