Inter Milan are setting their sights on a Serie A title repeat – and could also be candidates to win the Champions League.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inter go into next season with plenty of momentum from last campaign.

The Nerazzurri didn’t just win the Serie A title. They did so by a margin of nearly twenty points in the end.

Moreover, this was not just a one-off title victory.

There was a sense that this was the culmination of three years of work under coach Simone Inzaghi.

And Inter can boast a core of players who have a very solid understanding of what Inzaghi wants from them. The 3-5-2 formation looks like a well-oiled machine.

Inter have kept the squad together. Whilst a few players are in their thirties and could decline a bit, in many cases there could even be improvements.

And the likes of Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski are big upgrades in depth in midfield and attack.

Therefore, Inter will feel confident that even the improvements that Juventus, Napoli, and AC Milan are making this summer will not stop them from being favourites to retain their crown.

Not Just Serie A – Inter Milan Also Candidates In Champions League

The one major disappointment of last season for Inter was an early elimination from the Champions League.

The Nerazzurri did make it out of the group stage.

But from a seemingly strong position in their round of sixteen tie against Atletico Madrid, they bombed out on penalties.

This has certainly tempered expectations around the Nerazzurri in Europe.

Last season, Inter had even had the tag of one of the three or four favourites after their impressive run to the 2022-23 final.

But in the view of Tuttosport, there is no reason not to see Inter among the main contenders next season.

Last season’s collapse against Atletico showed the pitfalls of European knockout football.

But the overall quality of Inter’s squad and style of play should still be enough to make them a tough opponent for absolutely anyone in Europe.
