Inter Milan To Wrap Up Signing Of Hellas Verona Star In Next 48 Hours

Inter Milan are set to wrap up the signing of defender Juan Cabal from Hellas Verona within the next 48 hours.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInter1908. The outlet report that the Nerazzurri and the Gialloblu are ironing out the final details of a deal that will be worth around €10 million.

Over the last week or so, Inter have been going full speed ahead in their efforts to sign Verona defender Cabal.

The Colombian has emerged as the Nerazzurri’s main target to reinforce in defense.

Inter’s plan has been to sign a left-sided defender.

This is largely because of the unexpected setback that is a long-term injury to Canadian international wingback Tajon Buchanan.

With Buchanan on the sidelines for the first few months of next season, Carlos Augusto will play primarily or exclusively on the flank.

And with Augusto tied up at wingback, Inter want to bolster the options on the left side of the back three.

There were a few options that Inter considered as far as a target in defense.

Both Mario Hermoso and Ricardo Rodriguez are available on free transfers this summer. Inter are certainly no stranger to free transfer signings.

And both of the former Atletico Madrid and Torino defenders are more than capable of playing on the left of a back three.

But Inter owners Oaktree preferred an investment in a younger player.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri turned their attention to Verona defender Cabal as their top target.

Inter To Sign Juan Cabal From Hellas Verona Within The Next 48 Hours

The negotiations for Cabal have progressed swiftly.

Inter have already found an agreement with Cabal on personal terms. He is set to sign a five-year contract worth around €1 million net per season plus add-ons.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are closing in on an agreement with Verona.,

There are a few details left to iron out. But the total value of the deal should be around €10 million.

That is the fee which Verona are expecting to sell Cabal.

And Inter have put an offer worth around €8 million on the table. However, it will reach right around Verona’s asking price with the inclusion of all add-ons.

In the next day or two the clubs will figure out exactly how to structure all the add-ons.

Then it will be time for Cabal to undergo his medicals and complete his move to become an Inter player.
