Juventus have joined Inter Milan in their efforts to try and sign Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson this summer.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio. He reports on his homepage that both the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri are considering trying to sign the Icelander on an initial loan deal.

This summer, Genoa forward Gudmundsson is one of the hot names on the transfer market in Serie A.

Last season, the former AZ Alkmaar forward scored fourteen goals and made a further seven assists for Genoa. Therefore, the transfer interest in Gudmundsson is hardly surprising.

The one complicating factor, however, is an ongoing case against Gudmundsson for an alleged sexual assault in his native Iceland.

This has evidently not stopped some of Serie A’s biggest clubs from eyeing up a transfer of the 26-year-old.

Inter have been the club most strongly linked with Gudmundsson.

The Nerazzurri have reportedly been pursuing the Icelandic international for several months now.

But according to Di Marzio, it is not just Inter who want to sign Gudmundsson.

Juventus Join Inter In The Chase For Albert Gudmundsson

According to Di Marzio, Inter’s bitter Derby d’Italia rivals Juventus are also keen to sign Gudmundsson.

The Sky transfer expert reports that the two clubs are in fact considering a similarly-structured deal.

Di Marzio reports that both Inter and Juventus want to sign Gudmundsson on an initial paid loan deal.

This would be for a loan fee of around 10 million.

Then, there would also be a purchase option in the deal. That would be worth around €15 million, reports Di Marzio.

Therefore, everything could depend on which of Inter or Juventus are to move first to try and sign Gudmundsson.

There are still a few weeks left to go in the summer transfer window.

The Nerazzurri have reportedly earmarked Gudmundsson as a major target to strengthen their attack for next season.

But the Bianconeri are also aiming to bolster their squad for new coach Thiago Motta.
