Venezia are pushing to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Filip Stankovic today.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. Sky reports that there have been intense talks today as the newly-promoted Serie A aim to wrap up the 22-year-old’s signing ahead of the competition.

Inter are virtually certain to send keeper Stankovic out on another loan next season.

The Serb spent last season on loan with Sampdoria.

The Blucerchiati had a purchase option that would have become an obligation to sign Stankovic on a permanent basis at the end of last season had they won promotion to Serie A.

However, Sampdoria failed to do so.

Therefore, Stankovic is likely to go to a different club on loan.

Sampdoria had in fact shown an interest in bringing Stankovic back to Liguria for next season.

However, it has been teams in Serie A that have really come forward. Empoli had sounded out a loan for the 22-year-old.

But it has been Venezia who have really pushed for a deal. The newly-promoted team are looking for a new keeper, and have been in negotiations with Inter.

Venezia Pushing To Sign Inter Milan Keeper Filip Stankovic Today

Venezia are aware of the fact that there is competition to sign Stankovic, however.

Ligue 1 side Nantes are reportedly thinking about trying to sign the Serbian youth team international ahead of the Venetians.

Therefore, Venezia want to get the deal over the line before the competition can make their move.

Sky report that there are ongoing negotiations between Inter and Venezia today, along with Stankovic’s representatives.

The aim is for Venezia to get everything in place so they can make the Stankovic loan official in the coming days.

The two clubs have already been in talks this summer.

Inter have sold attacking midfielder Gaetano Oristanio to Venezia. And the Nerazzurri are reportedly close to signing midfielder Tanner Tessmann from the Venetians.

Therefore, Venezia are hoping to use this existing pathway to get the deal for Stankovic done.
