Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior has reportedly emerged as the new priority target for Inter Milan who are still eager to bolster their backline.

The Nerazzurri are looking to add a new left-footed defender to make up for the absence of the injured Tajon Buchanan.

With the Canadian out of action, Carlos Augusto will once more cover on the left flank. This leaves Alessandro Bastoni without a clear understudy.

The Italian champions were supposedly on the cusp of signing Hellas Verona’s Juan Cabal. However, it was Juventus who prevailed in the race for the 23-year-old.

The Colombian is currently finalizing a move to Turin, forcing Inter to look elsewhere.

So according to Sport Mediaset via FcInter1908, the Nerazzurri have pinpointed Kiwior as their new main target.

The Serie A giants have been linked with other profiles, including Mario Hermoso who is now a free agent after leaving Atletico Madrid. However, Inter owners Oaktree prefer a younger profile, thus giving the advantage to the Arsenal man.

The Poland international is all-too-familiar with Serie A football having made his bones at Spezia.

In January 2023, he completed a switch to the Emirates Stadium. However, he hasn’t been able to establish himself as a regular starter in Mikel Arteta’s lineup.

Moreover, the Gunners are trying to sign Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna. This would push Kiwior further down in the pecking order.

Therefore, the 24-year-old could be open to a move to San Siro.

But as the report explains, a deal between the two clubs would only be possible if the Gunners are willing to accept a loan formula.

The Nerazzurri have no intention of buying the Tuchy native immediately on a permanent basis.

So if Arsenal are open to a temporary move, an agreement could take shape.
