Inter Milan are reportedly considering making a move for Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior after dropping out of the race for Juan Cabal.

The Nerazzurri’s search for a new left-footed defender led them towards the Hellas Verona star. However, their pursuit was to no avail.

Juventus entered the race for the 23-year-old Colombian and overtook the Italian champions at the eleventh hour. Hence, Cabal is currently finalizing his move to Turin.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri insist they weren’t beaten by the Bianconeri, but simply decided to drop out of the race.

Whatever the case may be, one thing is for certain: Inter must find an alternative on the market.

The Beneamata could therefore revive their interest in Ricardo Rodriguez and Mario Hermoso. Both players are free agents after leaving Torino and Atletico Madrid respectively.

However, the club’s owners Oaktree Capital prefer younger profiles, whereas Rodriguez is 31 and Hermoso 29.

Inter Milan Consider Making A Move For Arsenal Defender Jakub Kiwior

Thus, Inter could decide to pursue Arsenal’s Kiwior. The 24-year-old made a name for himself in Serie A during his time at Spezia.

This earned the Poland international a move to North London, but it didn’t pan out according to plan.

Kiwior has been struggling for playing time, with Mikel Arteta preferring Gabriel and William Saliba at the heart of the defense.

And if the Gunners were to sign Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori, the Pole would become surplus to requirements at the Emirates.

Nevertheless, the source believes that his deal could only see the light if Arsenal were to accept a loan move. That’s because Inter don’t plan to sign the former Spezia man on a permanent basis.

The Roman newspaper also mentions Genoa’s Johan Vazquez as a possible transfer target for the Nerazzurri. The 25-year-old Mexican has been on the Grifone’s books since 2021.
