Inter Milan icon Giuseppe Bergomi is irked by how Juventus recurringly poaches his beloved club’s transfer targets.

The legendary defender made those comments as the Nerazzurri fell short in the race for Juan Cabal.

The Hellas Verona defender was supposedly close to signing for the Italian champions. However, a late onslaught from the Old Lady swayed him towards Turin.

This brought to memory some transfer sagas from the past, most famously the one involving Gleison Bremer two years ago.

Moreover, a similar episode occurred in January when Juventus snatched Tiago Djalo from under Inter’s nose. The Nerazzurri were looking to sign the Portuguese on a free transfer in the summer, but Juventus anticipated the move by striking an agreement with Lille.

Therefore, Bergomi laments how the Bianconeri keep usurping Inter in these transfer duels.

“I feel like saying that Inter always have good ideas on the market, but then maybe Juve will jump in,” said the 1982 World Cup winner during his appearance on Sky Sport Italia via FcInter1908.

Bergomi Weighs In On Inter Milan Vs Juventus Transfer Duels

“It happened with Djaló and now with Cabal, but I’m calm. The management is working well, they won’t be caught unprepared.

“The squad is already very strong and complete. Buchanan’s injury forces Inter to look for a defender or a wingback, because the club has many commitments.

Bergomi also expects the club to sign a new striker before the summer transfer market ends.

“Inter will also move on a young striker, who I think the club is already working on. That is unless Valentin Carboni stays.

“But the idea is to complete the attack with a player with different characteristics compared to the players currently available.”
