Inter Milan have reportedly decided to end their talks with Venezia midfielder Tanner Tessman after failing to reach an agreement with his entourage.

Tuttosport (via FcInterNews) is reporting this story on Friday evening, although Venezia sporting director Filippo Antonello revealed that his club had reached a full agreement with Inter over the transfer earlier today.

The Nerazzurri have been tracking the American midfielder for several weeks.

The 22-year-old rose to prominence last season while playing an instrumental role in his club’s promotion to the top flight.

But with his contract expiring next year, Venezia are eager to sell the USMNT star before he leaves as a free agent in 2025.

Hence, Inter jumped on the opportunity to sign the promising Regista for a relatively low fee.

But while they managed to secure an agreement with Venetian club, satisfying the player and his agents proved a more daunting task.

So as the Turin-based newspaper explains, Inter have now decided to abandon Tessman’s pursuit. This is mainly due to the high requests concerning the player’s salary and his agents’ commissions.

Moreover, the Alabama native always had his doubts about the move. The player wasn’t a fan of the plans Inter had in store for him.

The Italian champions already have enough depth in the middle of the park, especially following Piotr Zielinski’s arrival.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri were planning to sign Tessman and then send him on loan to another club. News reports suggested Everton as a possible destination yesterday.

As the source put it, this story brought to mind the bizarre Lazar Samardzic saga from last season. The Serbian had arrived to sign the contract with Inter. However, the deal fell apart due to his father’s commission requests.
