Inter Milan would reportedly find it easier to sign Johan Vazquez from Genoa rather than secure an agreement with Arsenal for Jakub Kiwior.
The Nerazzurri are still searching the market for a new left-footed defender who can act as Alessandro Bastoni’s backup.
They thought they had found their man in the shape of Juan Cabal. Yet, Juventus pulled off an onslaught at the eleventh hour, securing an agreement with the Colombian and Bologna.
The Bianconeri have now signed the 23-year-old for 11 million euros in addition to bonuses.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri officials are irritated by Cabal and his entourage.
Nevertheless, Inter have no other option but to resume their search and find themselves an alternative profile.
Over the last 24 hours or so, the candidacy of Vazquez and Kiwior have gained some steam.
But as the Roman newspaper tells it, Inter are more likely to sign the Mexican than the Pole.
Inter Milan Tipped To Sign Johan Vazquez Instead Of Jakub Kiwior
The source believes that Arsenal are requesting high figures for Kiwior. Moreover, the Gunners aren’t open to letting him leave on loan.
So in these conditions, the Italian champions are unlikely to secure a deal for the former Spezia man.
On the other hand, Vazquez would be a more affordable profile.
Furthermore, Inter and Genoa have already conducted business this summer. The Grifone sold Spanish goalkeeper Josep Martinez to the Nerazzurri on a permanent deal.
Vazquez is a 25-year-old centre-back who can also play as a left-back or wingback.
The defender represented several clubs in Mexico before signing for the Ligurians in 2021. He’s coming off an impressive campaign under Alberto Gilardino’s guidance, which earned him a new contract valid until 2027.
