Inter Milan are reportedly considering finding themselves a more affordable striker as signing Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa is proving to be a daunting task.

The two clubs have already conducted business this summer, with goalkeeper Josep Martinez moving to Appiano Gentile.

The Nerazzurri are also monitoring the Grifone’s Mexican defender Johan Vazquez.

However, Gudmundsson has cemented himself as Genoa’s ultimate star last season. Hence, the Ligurians are adamant about making the most out of his sale.

The asking price for the Iceland international is currently 30 million euros.

As reported yesterday, Inter have recently come up with an innovative formula to sign the second striker. They could reportedly offer Genoa a loan worth 10 million euros with an option to buy.

However, even this option would be costly for the Nerazzurri.

Moreover, the Italian champions intend to splash less than 30 million in total (between the loan fee and the purchase), which could be a significant hurdle considering Genoa’s asking price.

Inter Milan Considering Bringing Young Striker Instead Of Albert Gudmundsson

So according to Il Corriere dello Sport (via FcInterNews), Beppe Marotta and company could turn to alternative solutions.

As the Roman newspaper explains, Inter could be seeking a cheaper option than Gudmundsson to bolster the attack.

The Serie A giants would search the market for a young striker capable of dribbling and is also willing to accept a part-time role and be left out of the Champions League squad.

Inzaghi will most likely rely on Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram as his main strikers for the second season in a row.

Mehdi Taremi has arrived to improve the club’s attacking depth, while Marko Arnautovic is eager to stay.

Nevertheless, the Inter coach would like to have a fifth option at his disposal ahead of an over-packed campaign.
