Inter Milan have announced the signing of Real Betis youngster Alex Perez on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

The Nerazzurri have been tracking the 18-year-old for quite some time now.

The Italian champions have been keen to bolster their youth ranks this summer, and have already acquired Slovenian attacking midfielder Luka Topalovic.

The Beneamata have now confirmed the signing of Perez through an official statement posted on the club’s website.

The 18-year-old started his career at Rayo Vallecano before making the move to Real Betis in 2022.

The teenager represented the Andalusian club’s U19 side before earning a promotion to their second team, called Betis Deportivo. He cemented himself as one of the most promising prospects at the club.

The La Liga side was hoping to extend the defender’s contract which was only valid until June 2025.

However, Perez refused all offers, as he was keen to make the move to Milano.

He landed in Italy on Wednesday and underwent his medical tests before signing his contract with the club on Thursday.

Inter Milan Sign Alex Perez From Real Betis

The youngster will likely join Inter’s U19 side in his first season in Italian football. If he manages to impress, he should gain a permanent contract with the Nerazzurri, and possibly a place in the first team by the 2025/26 campaign.

Perez was born in Madrid to a Spanish father and a Mozambiquan mother. Therefore, he holds dual citizenship, but has yet to represent either country on the international stage.

The teenager is right-footed and primarily plays at the heart of the defense.

Inter have already signed Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski earlier this month. They have both arrived as free agents.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri brought Spanish goalkeeper Josep Martinez from Genoa on a permanent basis.
