The sporting director of Venezia Filippo Antonelli reveals that his club has an agreement in place with Inter Milan over the transfer of Tanner Tessman.

The American midfielder played an instrumental role in his club’s promotion to Serie A last season.

However, the 22-year-old is running on an expiring contract and has no intention to dwell further at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo.

Therefore, Inter pounced on the opportunity, securing an accord with Venezia. The Italian champions are also ironing out the final details with the USMNT star regarding personal terms.

For his part, Venezia’s Antonelli confirmed that the two clubs have now reached a full agreement.

“We have closed the deal with Inter,” said the Venezia sporting director in his press conference on Friday via FcInterNews.

Antonelli also revealed that his club was hoping to maintain Tessman on loan for next season, but to no avail.

“On our part, there was the desire to keep the player on loan. However, he prefers to go elsewhere.

“Therefore, Inter will have started looking for a solution.”

Venezia Sporting Director Filippo Antonelli Confirms Tanner Tessman Deal With Inter Milan

Due to the growing competition for places in the middle of the park, Inter are looking to loan out Tessman for the 2024/25 campaign. After all, Simone Inzaghi already has two six midfielders vying for three starting places.

However, it appears that another campaign at Venezia isn’t an enticing notion for the Alabama native.

As reported yesterday, the Serie A giants could send Tessman to Everton on a temporary basis. This would allow him to improve his game while playing his football in the English Premier League.

The defensive midfielder has only played for Venezia since making the move to European football in 2021.
