Inter Milan are preparing to make an offer worth €10 million to sign Zenit St. Petersburg defender Robert Renan.

This according to Russian outlet Euro-Football, via FCInterNews. Furthermore, South American football journalist Uriel Iugt reports that the formal offer should come in the next few days.

Zenit defender Renan is the latest player to emerge on Inter’s shortlist of possible signings for the back three.

The Nerazzurri had been close to signing Hellas Verona defender Juan Cabal.

However, the Colombian instead went to Juventus.

Therefore, Inter are now back at square one in their search for a defensive signing.

The profile that they are seeking, however, remains the same. Inter want to bring in a player who can deputize for Alessandro Bastoni on the left of the back three.

This would allow Carlos Augusto to play exclusively at wingback, covering for Tajon Buchanan. Last season, the Brazilian regularly played in the back three as well.

Inter Prepare €10M Offer For Zenit Defender Robert Renan

Recent reports indicate that Zenit defender Renan is one player who Inter believe has the right profile to play in their back three.

The Brazilian is a quick and versatile left-footed defender.

Moreover, at twenty years of age, Renan very much fits the age profile that Inter owners Oaktree Capital are looking for.

The Nerazzurri owners are reportedly aiming to sign a younger defender who will have room to grow as well as potential resale value.

Inter’s interest in Renan has been reported upon for a couple of days now.

But as of yet, the Nerazzurri have not made a formal offer to Zenit.

However, such an offer is not too far away at this point. South American football journalist Uriel Iugt reports that Inter will present a bid to Zenit in the next few days.

Furthermore, Russian outlet Euro-Foot report that the offer will be worth around €10 million.
