Midfielder Piotr Zielinski will get his first minutes on the pitch for Inter Milan in tomorrow’s friendly match against Pergolettese.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Tomorrow, Inter will play their second friendly match of preseason.

The Nerazzurri have already played one friendly match this summer. That came against Lugano, who are the Nerazzurri’s traditional first friendly opponent of the preseason period.

And tomorrow, it will be the turn of Pergolettese.

Naturally, the purpose of the match will simply be to get players in Inter’s squad out on the pitch.

The team have now been in training for a week. That is with the big caveat that many players who had been on international duty at the Euros or the Copa America are still missing.

The purpose of training so far has mainly been to build up physical condition.

However, there is already a pivot to start working on match fitness.

Piotr Zielinski To Get First Inter Milan Minutes In Friendly Vs Pergolettese

One player who has joined up with the Inter squad in the last couple days was midfielder Zielinski.

The Polish international is now a Nerazzurri player officially, as of the start of this month.

Zielinski joined Inter on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Napoli.

The 30-year-old midfielder has only spent a couple of days in Inter training thus far. He arrived at the end of last week.

However, Zielinski is already starting to get up to speed.

The Pole has had the chance to work with Inter coach Simone Inzaghi for the first time, coming to understand what the coach’s tactical expectations are.

And Zielinski is starting to link up with his new teammates – at least those who are not still on their holidays.

Therefore, Zielinski is working to fit into Inter’s 3-5-2 tactical system.

Tomorrow will be the latest test of that formation, against Pergolettese.

And this will be the first time that Zielinski gets out onto the pitch playing in the formation that Inter use, along with his new teammates.

The former Napoli midfielder is not likely to start the match. He is still building up physical condition after the Euros and his subsequent vacation.

However, Zielinski should be able to come off the bench and then play a chunk of the friendly match,
