Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior is the top target for Inter Milan to bolster their defense, but only on one condition.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri will only sign the Polish international if it is on an initial loan deal.

Potentially the last major signing Inter will make this summer will be for the left side of the defense.

The Nerazzurri had been on the verge of sealing a deal for Hellas Verona defender Juan Cabal last week.

However, Juventus nipped in at the last moment. They made a higher offer than Inter for the Colombian, signing him.

Therefore, Inter are back to square one in their search for a defender.

But the profile that the Nerazzurri are aiming to sign remains the same as ever.

The strategy is to sign a left-footed defender who can back up Alessandro Bastoni.

That way the versatile Brazilian Carlos Augusto does not have to deputize for Bastoni. This will in turn allow him to play at wingback exclusively whilst Tajon Buchanan is out following a serious leg break.

Arsenal Defender Kiwior The Top Defensive Target For Inter – But Only On Loan

Naturally, Inter’s strategy will be in large part dictated by which players are available.

And one major opportunity could present itself in the form of Arsenal defender Kiwior.

The Polish international joined the Gunners from Spezia in the January transfer window of the 2022-23 season.

However, the sense now is that Kiwior is already on his way out.

Arsenal have a number of options in the Pole’s position, with Oleksandar Zinchenko, Jurrien Timber, and Takehiro Tomiysau all capable of playing on the left of the defense where he has typically featured.

And then this summer, Ricardo Calafiori is set to arrive from Bologna.

Therfore, playing time could become hard to come by for Kiwior next season.

Accordingly, the 24-year-old wants to leave the Emirates.

Inter are very much eyeing up a move for Kiwior, reports Tuttosport. However, this would only be on one key condition.

Arsenal must first open up to sending the Polish international out on an initial loan deal, with a purchase option.
