Simone Inzaghi is enjoying the fine form of striker Mehdi Taremi in Inter Milan’s preseason training this summer.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note that the Iranian international has already scored three goals in two friendlies.

Taremi officially became an Inter player this month.

The 32-year-old’s transfer from Porto has been in the works for months.

Inter reportedly agreed terms with Taremi as far back as January, when they ramped up talks to sign him on a free transfer.

However, the Nerazzurri had to wait for Taremi’s contract with Porto to officially run out.

But now that he has officially joined, Taremi has not wasted any time.

The 32-year-old has been part of Inter’s training camp from the very beginning. And he has made the most of both the physical preparations and the opportunity to do one-on-one tactical work with Inter coach Inzaghi.

Inzaghi Enjoys Fine Form Of Mehdi Taremi In Inter Milan Preseason

Taremi has shown his hunger in training since the beginning of the camp earlier this month.

But it is not just in training that the Iranian has shone.

Inter have now played two friendly matches in preseason. There has been their traditional first friendly against Swiss side Lugano, and then a match against Serie C team Pergolettese.

Of course, the results of these matches has been irrelevant. More important has been the chance for Inter’s players to get out on the pitch and start building match fitness and finding their rhythm.

In that sense, the friendlies have been a big success for Taremi.

The former Porto striker may still be new as an Inter player.

But Taremi is already showing that he can fit into Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system well.

The Iranian has the versatile to lead the line and help the team in a variety of situations and positions.

And vitally, Taremi is showing that he can score goals.

This is hardly a surprise from a player who has found the back of the net over two hundred times over the course of his career.

The 32-year-old knows how to take up the right positions. And all signs indicate that those positions are appearing for him in Inzaghi’s tactical system.
