Midfielder Piotr Zielinski has won praise for his “lively” performance in Inter Milan’s friendly win over Pergolettese yesterday.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, adjudged the Polish international to have put in a positive display in yesterday’s match.

Yesterday, Inter played their second friendly match of the preseason.

Naturally, the result was not important, although Inter did win the match by a 2-1 scoreline.

Rather, yesterday’s friendly was an opportunity for the players who have spent the past few days in training working on their fitness to get out on the pitch and start finding their rhythm.

Perhaps the most significant name in the Inter starting eleven was that of former Napoli and Empoli midfielder Zielinski.

The 30-year-old joined Inter on a free transfer this summer.

Yesterday was Zielinski’s first opportunity to take to the pitch in an Inter shirt.

Piotr Zielinski Praised For “Lively” Performance In Inter Friendly Vs Pergolettese

There are big expectations for Zielinski at Inter.

The Pole has been one of the most consistently outstanding midfielders in Serie A for right around a decade now.

And Zielinski showed big glimpses of why with his contributions in yesterday’s friendly against Pergolettese.

The 30-year-old looked technically polished. Moreover, he had a positive outlook with the ball, always looking to keep it moving and find a teammate.

This was a positive sign for the prospect of Zielinski fitting into Inter’s midfield trio.

Meanwhile, Tuttosport also praised the performances of the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Yann Bisseck, and Mehdi Taremi.

On the other hand, the newspaper argue that wingback Carlos Augusto looked a bit rusty and off the pace.

Meanwhile, midfielder Kristjan Asllani struggled to find time and space on the ball amid strong pressure from Pergolettese’s central players.
